He had come to the garrison common room at 1952 because that was when Doss came, and Doss had asked twice in the past week whether Kael was eating in the commissary or at his desk, which was Doss's particular way of asking whether Kael was still present in any form that registered. Kael had said the common room, and Doss had nodded, and that was the arrangement.
