Chapter 18: The Gods Are Informed and Are Not Pleased

The Iris-message request took three attempts.

The first rainbow Percy conjured dissolved before he got the drachma in the air, which had never happened before. The second held for about four seconds and then went gray in a way that felt less like technical failure and more like something on the other end not wanting to be found. The third one held, shimmering and reluctant, and Percy threw the coin through it before it could change its mind.

"Olympus. Council chamber. Please," he said, which was probably not the correct protocol, but nobody had ever given him a manual.
