Synopsis

Seoul, present day. The Bae family runs a small but beloved independent music academy in Hongdae, with five daughters of wildly different temperaments: Ji-soo, the gentle eldest with a voice like morning rain; Ellie, razor-sharp and fiercely principled; Min, bookish and withdrawn; Kitty, easily influenced; and Lia, charismatic and dangerously impulsive. Their parents face a slow-burning crisis: the academy lease is expiring, the building has been sold to HanStar Entertainment, and unless one of the daughters makes it big, the family loses everything. When HanStar's golden rookie group BINX arrives in Hongdae to film a reality segment, CEO Cha Joon-ho—cold, immaculately polished, and rumored to end careers as easily as he launches them—dismisses Ellie during an open audition with a single cutting remark overheard through a thin rehearsal wall: 'Technically fine, not marketable enough.' The words calcify into contempt. Ellie signs instead with Wicked Star, a rival agency fronted by charming talent scout Wook-jae, who fills her ears with stories of Cha's sabotage and theft of artists' rights. She rises fast. Meanwhile, Ji-soo falls for BINX's lead vocalist Bin, whose warmth is genuine but whose contract keeps him silent. Cha's interference separates them. Lia, chasing fame recklessly, vanishes with Wook-jae into a predatory underground showcase circuit—and only Cha's quiet, costly intervention pulls her back before the scandal destroys the family. Ellie is forced to re-examine every assumption she built her pride upon. Cha, confronted by her accusations, writes a twelve-page contract addendum that is really a confession. Two people who weaponized their best qualities—her wit, his standards—must dismantle their own defenses to find something neither industry metric can measure.
