The debrief started at six in the morning and lasted three hours and twenty minutes, which was forty minutes longer than it needed to be.

Vasquez ran it. Marcus sat to her left with a legal pad and wrote nothing on it. Carol stood against the far wall because she had not been invited to sit and had not asked. Zara was present for the first hour and then Marcus excused her on the grounds that she had operational documentation to complete, which was true and also not the reason.

The numbers were not complicated.
