Synopsis

In a world where the Titans emerged victorious from the Second Olympian War, the golden age of gods is nothing but ash and legend. Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, and their kin are imprisoned within the Tartarean Seals — ancient obsidian monoliths scattered across a world now ruled by Kronos and his restored Titan court. Without divine order, nature unravels: oceans swallow coastlines, storms never cease, and the dead walk freely among the living. Demigods — once protected in sanctuaries like Camp Half-Blood — are now hunted as threats to Titan supremacy, their divine heritage marking them for execution or worse, forced servitude in Kronos's war machine. Seventeen-year-old Ash Morrow has spent three years hiding in the ruins of Manhattan, leading a ragged cell of demigod survivors he calls the Ember Company. Half-son of Poseidon, Ash possesses powers he barely controls and desperately suppresses, knowing that using them draws Titan hunters like blood draws sharks. When a dying Oracle delivers a fragmented prophecy naming Ash as the Igniters' key — the only one who can shatter the Tartarean Seals — he is forced from the shadows. Joined by Lyra, a sharp-tongued daughter of Athena who distrusts everyone, and Cael, a satyr carrying guilt heavier than his years, Ash must journey through a broken, Titan-scarred world to locate all five Seals before the winter solstice, when Kronos plans to devour the imprisoned gods permanently, erasing divinity from existence forever. But the greatest enemy may not be Kronos — it may be the demigods who already surrendered.
